After a year of operation, and with the amazing support we've received from the local community, it’s time to take the next big step: securing the long-term future of the Hare.
Running a pub in today’s climate isn’t easy. The impact of the recent budget from the Government, rising costs, tight margins, and the limitations of being tied to a pub group make financial security a real challenge. The pub has operated at a reasonably significant loss this year and its future is in the balance. The only genuine way to keep the pub operating whilst keeping the prices reasonable for the community is to have full control.
That’s why we want to buy the building and turn the Hare into a freehold pub. Owning the property would give us more control over our future, free us from restrictive supply chains, and help us build a more stable and sustainable business.
We’re inviting the community to be part of something special. By coming together to fund the purchase, we can:
- Take ownership of the building
- Gain greater control over the pub
- Make a sound local property investment
- Unlock future potential to make the Hare even better!
Shares will start at £1,000, hopefully giving everyone a chance to own a piece of the pub they love.
The first step is simple: register your interest, indicate what your potential investment amount could be, and if available come along to a "town hall" meeting at the pub on 20th January 2026 at 7pm where more detail will be given.
